Winter...time to plan.

Bare rooted roses are available in abundance during the winter. This is the time of year we carry our largest variety. Be inspired with new releases such as 'Red Pierre', and old favourites like 'Just Joey'. Feed in spring with potash for improved flowering and vigour.

Bare rooted fruit and ornamental trees are best planted now during their dormant season. Again we have by far our best selection this time of the year. Wes Fleming from Fleming's Nursery will be conducting fruit tree pruning demonstrations again this winter.

Spring....time for action.

This time of year is all about planting vegetables. Choose from favourites like capsicum, zucchini, cucmbers and of course tomatoes. A good trick is to plant your tomato seedlings nice and deep, right up the stem for stronger plants.

Keep an eye on your roses for black spot or powdery mildew. Spray with a milk and water spray for organic control.

Summer...time to enjoy.

Mulch, Mulch, Mulch! Conserve precious moisture by using mulch in the garden. Remember to avoid mulching dry soil, water deeply before applying.

Many plants can have a feed now to maintain strong growth. Ferilize citrus trees, roses and gardenias now for peak performance.

Autumn...time to rejuvenate.

Take advantage of all that free mulch falling from deciduous trees. Pile up autumn leaves and mix with a little blood and bone to make fantastic compost for the spring.

After the heat of summer has passed and before it gets too cold treat your garden to an application of seasol to help rejuvenate and burnt or stressed plants.
